We have established a collaboration with the Danish National School of Performing Arts, through which Danish Dance Theatre invites 3 students each season to undertake an internship with the company for a period of 4–6 weeks. We hold an audition once per season for the school.
Testimonial from one of this season’s interns:
“I have learned a lot during my internship at DDT. First and foremost, I think of how varied the working life is there, and how I was introduced to many different working methods. It gave me a great understanding of the breadth of DDT’s practice. I also learned the importance of making yourself available and being open to exploration and exchange. Entering a working group that has collaborated closely, as the new person, requires a high degree of adaptability and flexibility. But it really taught me a lot about how to position myself in a working space, where my strengths lie, and when I can contribute to the collective. Everyone at DDT is also very welcoming, and I always felt there was someone I could talk to if needed. I experienced great support and understanding.”
In addition, we host 1–2 interns each season through the Erasmus programme.
