Danish Dance Theatre is excited to bring the company’s popular outdoor event, Danish Dance Theatre’s Summer Dance, to Mors, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg, where audiences can look forward to experiencing Denmark’s National Company for Contemporary Dance under the open sky.
This year’s program features the world premiere of SURVIVE, created by Tehran-born artist and choreographer Roza Moshtaghi, performed by Danish Dance Theatre’s 10 dancers.

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
SURVIVE as if for the first time is a choreographic ode to the ongoing faces of resistance
Roza Moshtaghi is a Tehran-born artist and choreographer based in Oslo. She draws inspiration from everyday situations transforming them into surreal humor-infused encounters. In her work fiction is not just a creative choice – it is a tool for discovering what comes after we survive.
A conflict arises at a dinner party when one refuses to taste the persimmon dessert as the guest want to keep the stringent taste of the fruit unknown. The episode escalates into an existential conflict about the pros and cons of therapy.
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1,0! Everyone is revisiting their surviving self where they live on the sharp edge of urgency.
In this performance Roza blends the ordinary, the vulgar, and the exaggerated, where cartoonish battle scenes and pulsating rhythms transform into moments of gentle poetry. For Roza, it is urgent to listen deeply and speak up. And yes, we are allowed to scream.
