KRASH & CHOPIN DANSER is an evening of contemporary dance based on two completely different traditions of music created by the 4-time Reumert award winner Tim Rushton and winner of the Reumert jury talent award Alessandro Sousa Pereira.

The preliminary study of CHOPIN DANSER, performed in the foyer of the Opera House, was a great success in August 2017. Choreographer Tim Rushton, who has always had a great love for the intimate piano music created by the master composer Frédéric Chopin, has created this work. When learning to play the piano as a child, Rushton became acquainted with Chopin’s works, and as an adult, he has continued his fascination of this imaginative universe. CHOPIN DANSER is based on Rushton’s great enthusiasm for Chopin, where he dives deep into man’s innermost romantic relationships.

KRASH is a performance with plenty of wildness, power and infectious joy, danced to Brazilian-inspired beats created by the Danish Outlandish star producer DJ Turkman Souljah. Alessandro Sousa Pereira has created the big hit KRASH for The Royal Danish Ballet in 2015. The work is based on the poem with the same title, written by the Danish poet Niels Frank about the collision between different cultures. At the same time, it is an ode to Pereira’s Brazilian roots, in terms of choreography, expression and music.
