GENERATOR - Three World premiere at Takkelloftet

Danish Dance Theatre, Denmark’s leading contemporary dance company, presents THE GENERATOR. THE GENERATOR is a company within the company – a unique concept ranging over three years, where choreographers and spectators alike get to explore new sides of Danish Dance Theatre.

Over the next few years, three choreographers will be creating works for THE GENERATOR: the award-winning Brazilian choreographer, Alessandro Sousa Pereira from Danish Dance Theatre, the Bosnian performer and choreographer, Edhem Jesenkovic and Sebastian Kloborg from The Royal Danish Ballet. Over a three year period, Danish Dance Theatre provides the choreographers with a unique possibility to grow artistically, using the company’s national and international network.

THE GENERATOR allows for these assertive and emerging choreographers, the opportunity for further development and exploration in their commitment to dance.

About the concept:
THE GENERATOR’s concept both preserves and draws benefits from two very central elements in Tim Rushtons life’s work: the ability to find and grow choreographic talent, while providing these choreographers with the company’s very experienced production team.  During the past 15 years, Danish Dance Theatre has built up a substantial network, both nationally and internationally. By supporting choreographic talents with the highest potential to grow, the company is able to take its artistic responsibility to a new level. The company will not intervene in the choreographer’s process, but Danish Dance Theatre along with its employees, will assist them in achieving their own individual artistic goals.
