Copenhagen Summer Dance 2017
Danish Red Cross as audience guides
At Danish Dance Theatre, we are very excited to once again announce our partnership with the Danish Red Cross, which has assembled a team of audience guides for Copenhagen Summer Dance. In this way, attention is drawn to the important humanitarian work of the Danish Red Cross. Furthermore the audience guides will each donate their guide-salary to the Red Cross. Help the Red Cross and sign up as a door-to-door collector on Sunday the 1st of October here.
Food and drink are not allowed, but can be purchased, at the Copenhagen Police Headquarters at ‘Øieblikket’ – a café normally residing at the Royal Library, The Black Diamond.
We at Danish Dance Theatre are proud to present ’øieblikket’ as our caterer for Copenhagen Summer Dance. From two booths, øieblikket will be selling food and drink in the Police Yard starting at 7:00 p.m. every day, as well as from 1:00 p.m. during our matiné performances on Saturday and Sunday.
Øieblikket is a guarantee for a culinary experience at reasonable prices! Normally, Øieblikket serves from their espresso bar in the Royal Library, The Black Diamond. Here, they are the heart of the building where they serve coffee, sandwiches, soup, cakes, etc.
Øieblikket is used to many types of guests, with different needs, and are able to adapt to the situation at hand. Here they will have a varied selection of homemade items made by fresh produce in their own kitchen and bakery.

CANCELLED: Copenhagen Summer Dance in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters is cancelled due to The Copenhagen Police's current assessment of the terrorist threat.
This year’s Copenhagen Summer Dance from the 7th-13th of August 2017 in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters have the 26th of June been cancelled due to The Copenhagen Police's current assessment of the terrorist threat and the past few weeks terrorist incidents in Europe.
The Copenhagen Police substantiates the cancellation in the following:
”The Copenhagen Police have in view of the current assessment of the terrorist threat and the past few weeks of terrorist incidents in European capitals, made a decision that the event 'Copenhagen Summer Dance' and all similar arrangements can't be held in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters this year."
Danish Dance Theatre's artistic director Tim Rushton says about the cancellation of Copenhagen Summer Dance in Copenhagen:
"We at Danish Dance Theatre are deeply sorry, that we can't carry out this years 'Copenhagen Summer Dance" in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters, but naturally we respect our dear, long-standing collaborator The Copenhagen Police's threat assessment. It is obvious that we can't compromise the safety of the audience, the police and staff. It is naturally a matter of great regret to both audiences, collaborators and foundations and we have therefore already made sure to reimburse the many already sold tickets. At the moment we are working to find a good solution, so that we carry out Copenhagen Summer Dance in the future, but this hasn’t been clarified yet."
All audience’s will get their ticket reimbursed and will be contacted.
