THE CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS

THE CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS

22 -23 May, Takkelloftet, The Royal Opera House

GUEST PERFORMANCE WITH SKÅNES DANSTEATER

- A dance fable for the whole family with Skånes Dansteater

The wild, crazy and surreal choreographer Marcos Morau and Skånes Dansteater visit the Opera’s Takkelloft with a fantastic dance performance from the world of animals, made for children and the child within us all. Welcome to a magical fantasy world where Camille Saint-Saëns famous, quirky and poetic orchestra suite Le Carnival des Animaux (1886) opens the way to a playful universe that appeals to the creativity of both young and old.

With THE CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS, this will be the first time that the internationally acclaimed Spanish choreographer throws himself into a dance performance for children and their adults. He has always had a sense for all things crazy – and that is why this is a bit of a dream job for him.

This performance is part of an exchange between Danish Dance Theatre and Skånes Dansteater, where Danish Dance Theatre will be performing Pontus Lidberg’s work Siren in Malmø, in September of 2019.

You can look forward to a festive afternoon in the company of the animals who celebrate the carnival. Recommended for both children and adults form 7 years old and up.
