A group of dancers performs their final dance in an intense embrace of life, while the awareness of its ending lingers beneath the surface. The performance balances between ecstasy and abyss and is inspired by the reflections of the French thinker Georges Bataille on desire, excess and madness. The work marks Danish Dance Theatre&#8217;s Artistic Director Marina Mascarell\u2019s first world premiere for the company, offering the audience to experience her choreographic universe, in close dialogue with the dancers. The costumes burst in vivid colours, featuring blood red lace and purple tulle playfully woven into the choreography. They stand in sharp contrast to the black and white floor, decorated by Marina Mascarell and the dancers themselves. The rhythmic music, incorporating percussion samples by Uffe Savery from Safri Duo, supports the pulsating universe of the performance.
