The world premiere WALTZ is a new piece created by Spanish Marcos Morau (artistic director of La Veronal.) Morau is an experienced multi-faceted artist and with Waltz he intends to dig deep into classical music, exploring the history behind the waltz – all the way from Tchaikovsky to Strauss.

MARCOS MORAU (Barcelona, Spain 1982) studied choreography at the Institut del Teatro de Barcelona, the Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Valencia and Movement Research in New York. In 2005 he created La Veronal, a company formed by artists from dance, film, photography and literature. Marcos Morau has recently beenawarded with the National Dance Award 2013, granted by the Spanish Ministry ofCulture, and the Sebastià Gasch Award, an important prize granted by the Foundation of Arts and Design. His creations have won awards in international choreography competitions like Hannover, Copenhagen, Madrid, Tàrrega and Siena. He has created works for et al. the Nederlands Dans Theater II, IT Dansa, Skånes Dansteater, Carte Blanche, Das Hessische Staatsballett, Ballet De Lorraine.
