KRIDT & FRAME OF VIEW

FRAME OF VIEW by Veldman, is a humoristic and breathtaking piece about the individuals ability to use social masks. The dancers jump in and out emotions, from fierce jealousy, heart-wrenching loneliness, to fervant desire, dancing to classics interpreted by Nina Simone, Kronos Quartet and many others.

KRIDT
While hearing the sound of someone scratching writings on a wall, a man lies on the floor preparing himself to meet his fate. Eyes meet. The body’s memory takes over the story. Tim Rushton had two sources of inspiration creating Kridt. Firstly, a text from the Bible as the thematic pivotal point: ‘To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven’ (Ecclesiastes, 3,1.) Secondly, Musica Adventus, the suite for strings by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks. The music takes its starting point in the epistle on the Christmas message – Peace on Earth.
