Nancy Henderek, the producer and founder of Dance Salad Festival attended the Royal Ballets 3rd Bournonville Festival in June 2005. At the same time Tim Rushtons Silent Steps did premier at The Royal Theatre. She saw it, she liked it, and she found it worthy to present for the Houston community.
On the 13.-15. April, beginning at 7:30pm, at Dance Salad Festival, Wortham Center, Cullen Theater, Houston, Texas, U.S.A., one can among others experience Silent Steps in excerpts.
Dance Salad Festival is a curated, international production comprised of performances by companies and dancers from around the world, chosen for their excellence. Dance Salad Festival occurs only in Houston.
Modern, contemporary, and classical dance merge on the stage in Dance Salad to form a magnificent mélange of styles and music. Members of some of the most respected dance companies in the world come to Houston specifically to participate in the Festival that includes a full week of education and outreach activities culminating in 3 nights of performance. Each night’s production is different yet is choreographed as a coherent, expressive performance designed to interweave – a “salad” of pieces—creating a compelling whole. Many of the pieces are performed twice in the three-day format.
Danish Dance Theater will be presented at the prestigious festival among others: Beijing Modern Dance Company, China; Dutch National Ballet, Netherlands; Royal Danish Ballet, Denmark; Ben Stevenson's Texas Dance Theater, Dallas and Trey McIntyre Project.
Please check the homepage of Dance Salad Festival for information on ticket sales.
The Committee for the Performing Arts of the Danish Arts Council has kindly supported the travel to Texas.
