Edhem Jesenkovic starts as dancer

Edhem Jesenkovic returned to Danish Dance Theatre after three years elsewhere. Some might remember him as one of the outstanding male dancers whom Tim Rushton hired in the beginning of the century. Edhem was engaged in the period from 2002 to 2004 and was highly featured in both WORKING MAN (2002) and GRAFFITI (2004).

Edhem Jesenkovic was born in 1977 in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Hercegovina. He is educated at Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm in 1999. Edhem danced with Carte Blanche, Norway, Galili Dance, The Netherlands, Skånes Dansteater, Sweden, Ballet Gulbenkian, Portugal, Andersson Dance, Sweden, Nyt Dansk Danseteater (the former Danish Dance Theatre), Adekwhat - Philipe Blanchard, Sweden and with Ohad Naharin, Israel. For the past five years he has taken part in Copenhagen International Summer Ballet as a choreographer and dancer. In June 2008 he received the 1st prize of the international competition, Cross Connection Ballet, in Copenhagen with the piece called “7*8 - that’s all it is”.

Edham Jesenkovic started again as a full time dancer Monday morning and jumped into the rehearsals of CINDERELLA. Freelance, he was actually already with us since the spring of 2008 dancing in LABYRINTH.
