The Royal Danish Theatre writes: ‘Yes! The Royal Ballet made a clean sweep when the Erik Bruhn Prize was awarded last night at The National Ballet of Canada in Toronto. Ida Praetorius and Andreas Kaas took the award for best dancers, and truth be told, Alessandro Pereira also snatched the choreography award. Never before has one country won all of the awards. Two of DDT's dancer's partake in the film 'Ballerina'

'Ballerina' - a documentary by Maja Friis - reflects the reknown Swedish ballerina Elsa Marianne von Rosen''s life and carrier. The film presents choreographies danced by Ana Sendas and Stefanos Bizas.

Through new choreographed dance scenes with three professional contemporary dancers, a unique archival material with von Rosen (both still and video), a narrative inspired by her own autobiography Inte bara en dans på Rosor and brand new recordings with the now 90 year-old dance legend, the film gives us a poetic peek into von Rosen’s deeply passionate relationship to dancing - a passion that gave her life itself, but also almost took it away from her.

”Nothing will ever come between me and the dance.”
