Love Songs on tour in Germany

During the remainder of November, Danish Dance Theatre will be travelling around Germany and Switzerland on a three week tour. The company has been invited to perform on seven large stages in Lingen, Bad Kissingen, Fulda, Worms, Düren, Schaffhausen and Coesfield.

The German audience will be presented with Tim Rushton’s successful performance ‘Love Songs’, which took the audience and critics by storm when it premiered at The Royal Danish Theatre in 2011. Love Songs both describes and plays around with the idea of love. Tim Rushton has created a modern dance performance that is both warm and intimate, relating to the individuals lifelong journey to find love. Caroline Henderson sings the classics from the good old days, such as ‘Come Rain or Come Shine’, ‘To Lay Me Down’ and ‘My Funny Valentine’.

Culture Night: Dance at Copenhagen Central Station, the 9th of October

Soon, it is time for Culture Night in Copenhagen, where Danish Dance Theatre has the pleasure of performing ‘Under the Clock’ at Copenhagen Central Station.

Danish Dance Theatre’s dancers will be showing excerpts from Tim Rushton’s popular performance ‘Love Songs’, every 15 minutes from 18:00 – 19:00 at Copenhagen Central Station.

Love Songs explores the nature of love.  As night turns to day, the dancers move through the many facets of love: from flirtation and the first kiss, right to the edge of kitsch, night club cruising. Here we meet the shy wallflower who is in love with the Don Juan of the dance floor, others whose affection has been worn down by life’s struggles, not to mention swaggering men and excited debutants.
