Danish Dance Theatre's new Chairman of the Board
The Cultural Minister, Mette Bock:
"With Uffe Savery, Danish Dance Theater receives a board chairman with insight into both the company's opportunities and challenges. Uffe Savery has an in-depth knowledge of Danish Dance Theater having already been on the board for five years. And he has plenty of knowledge from his position as head of an artistic institution, makes him a good choice for the position. Also, I consider Mette Neville to be a good addition to a competent board for an important cultural institution. I look forward to following the development of Danish Dance Theater in the coming years. "
The new Chairman, Uffe Savery, says the following about his appointment:
"It is a great honor and an exciting challenge to help lead Danish Dance Theater into a new chapter with Pontus Lidberg at the helm as the company's new Artistic Director. Danish Dance Theater has undergone an impressive development since being founded in 1981 and has established itself as a distinctive and internationally reknown aristic institution - seen all over the Danish performing arts landscape. Danish Dance Theater also plays a crucial role in the Danish society, enriching and inspiring many people throughout the country. I am therfore very humble to be chosen. As a member of the Board, it has been a great inspiration to work with the company and the two previous Chairmenn: Anette Abildgaard and Kasper Holten. I am very excited about the years to come with Pontus, the board and the company."
