Copenhagen Summer Dance is cancelled due to current assessment of the terrorist threat

This year’s Copenhagen Summer Dance from the 7th-13th of August 2017 in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters have the 26th of June been cancelled due to The Copenhagen Police's current assessment of the terrorist threat and the past few weeks terrorist incidents in Europe.

The Copenhagen Police substantiates the cancellation in the following:

The Copenhagen Police have in view of the current assessment of the terrorist threat and the past few weeks of terrorist incidents in European capitals, made a decision that the event 'Copenhagen Summer Dance' and all similar arrangements can't be held in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters this year."

Danish Dance Theatre's artistic director Tim Rushton says about the cancellation of Copenhagen Summer Dance in Copenhagen:

"We at Danish Dance Theatre are deeply sorry, that we can't carry out this years 'Copenhagen Summer Dance" in The Copenhagen Police Headquarters, but naturally we respect our dear, long-standing collaborator The Copenhagen Police's threat assessment. It is obvious that we can't compromise the safety of the audience, the police and staff. It is naturally a matter of great regret to both audiences, collaborators and foundations and we have therefore already made sure to reimburse the many already sold tickets. At the moment we are working to find a good solution, so that we carry out Copenhagen Summer Dance in the future, but this hasn’t been clarified yet."

All audience’s will get their ticket reimbursed and will be contacted.
